Turning the Tables

Turning the Tables

We come to Him with empty hands
And lame in both our feet
In rags before the righteous King
To face His judgment seat

With sin-stained hands and guilty pleas
As dead dogs we do lie
Requesting mercy as we claim
Your servant now am I

Indeed how just the King would be
To put us in our place
Express the fullness of His wrath
Instead, He offers grace

Forgiv’ness for repentant hearts
Who’ve come to Him in faith
Before the throne a place is set
To dine before His face

With such a gift we now draw near
Invited to His table
Partaking of the bread and cup
For by the Lord we’re able

The tables have been turned for those
He loves and calls His own
Once far away enslaved to sin
Now near and fully known

Bearing Good Fruit

Bearing Good Fruit

Faith that is voiced,
faith that is shared
is a faith that knows
good fruit it’s to bear.

Faith that is productive,
faith that is fruitful
is a faith God makes
for His kingdom useful.

Faith that is spoken,
faith that is conveyed
is a faith that God needs
so hearts can be swayed.

Faith that is ministering,
faith that is life-saving
is a faith in Jesus
worthy of our embracing.

Faith that is hidden,
faith that we don’t share
is a faith in God . . . .
leading others no where!
James 2:17

“Even so faith,
if it hath not works,
is dead, being alone.”

Matthew 7:16-20

“Ye shall know them by their fruits.
Do men gather grapes of thorns,
or figs of thistles?

Even so every good tree
bringeth forth good fruit;
but a corrupt tree
bringeth forth evil fruit.

A good tree cannot bring
forth evil fruit,
neither can a corrupt tree
bring forth good fruit.

Every tree that bringeth
not forth good fruit
is hewn down, and cast
into the fire.

Wherefore by their fruits
ye shall know them.”

Choose Love

Choose Love

The fighting cools but hatred rules
The crowded streets as temper heats.
The ridicules of thoughtless fools
Bring endless tweets as hate defeats.

But is it right that we should fight
A war of skin that love can win?
Yet we incite an evil plight;
In anger sin from hate within.

When battles start our senses part.
Let’s take a break for heaven’s sake.
Let hate depart from hurting heart
And claim the ache of past mistake.

Our past contains the bloody stains
And vicious roars of countless wars,
But love remains and hatred wanes
When grace restores and mercy pours

From man of woes, for once he chose,
Instead of fight with heaven’s might,
To take the blows in painful throes
And shine his light into the night.

Then evil cursed with dying thirst,
Yet he refused, with body bruised,
To bring his worst, let anger burst;
Instead excused as they abused.

So could we dare when tempers flare
To look ahead, leave thoughts unsaid?
When life’s unfair let’s kneel in prayer.
Before blood’s shed, choose love instead.

I Am My Brother's Keeper .

I Am My Brother's Keeper . . .

I am my brother's keeper,
I help him to understand
that God wants him to put
his whole life in His hand.

I am my sister's keeper,
I help her to see the light
I encourage her to grow
and keep Jesus in her sight.

I am my neighbor's keeper,
I pray for their families needs
I support them to always listen
and follow where God leads.

I am my mother's keeper,
in her old age I help her out
I hold her hand when lonely
and keep away her doubt.

I am my father's keeper,
I lift to God his very soul
I pray every day and night
that God will make him whole.

I am my children's keeper,
I listen to their concerns
I pray as they become adults
God's will, they can discern.

The Lord is my keeper,
I pray to Him every day
to bring me anyone I can help
as I go about His way.
Genesis 4:9

Then the Lord said to Cain, "Where is
Abel your brother?" He said, "I do not
know. Am I my brother's keeper?"
