Hold high the Torch !

Hold High The Torch !

You did not light its glow –
,Twas given you by other hands you know .
‘Tis yours to keep it burning bright !
Yours to pass on when you no more need light:
For there are other feet that we must guide
And other forms go marching by our side :
Their eyes are watching every smile and tear .
And efforts which we think are not worthwhile
Are sometimes just the very help they need ,
Action to which their souls would give most heed :
So that in turn they’ll it hold it high
And say :”I watched someone else carry it this way .”
I think it started down its pathway bright
The day the Maker said , Let there be light .”
“Ye are the light of the world –
Go Shine For Me

Times of stillness

Times of Stillness
When the rush of life o’ertakes me ,
And my soul for quiet seeks ,
When my mind is full of pressures
That pursue me through the week ,
I have a little heaven
Where I find my hearts content ,
And the quiet that surrounds me there
Is truly heaven sent .

For we all need times of stillness ;
To relax and just unwind ,
And let go of small resentments
That clutter up our minds .
So I seek the soothing quiet ,
To my haven , safe I trod ,
And alone there in the silence ,
I feel very close to God !

God Of Grace

God of Grace
O grant us faith ,dear God of grace
that strengthens and sustains
A faith that reigns triumphantly
through all our earthly pains .

Grant comfort that reveals Thy love ,
Console our hearts , we pray ;
God ,wipe our tears , and courage give ;
To walk in hope each day .

O grant us peace , dear God of grace ,
Peace Thou alone canst give ;
That we may rest our souls in thee,
And in Thy sweetness live .

From my house to your house have a Blessed and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace! (how sweet the sound!)
That sav'd a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev'd;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believ'd!
Thro' many dangers, toils, and snares,
I have already come;
'Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promis'd good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
This earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who call'd me here below,
Will be for ever mine.
{ This is my favorite song !!

Heaven Every Day

Heaven Every Day

We have a wonderful Guest
At our house
Who makes our a home a heaven ,
Every day :
And this wonderful Guest
At our house
Has promised us He’ll
Never go away .

He brought a lovely letter
From His Father’s house above ,
And every day we read it ,
For it tells us of His love ;
And when we go to sleep
At night ,
He sees that everything
Goes right –
This wonderful Guest
At our house .
Who makes our home a heaven
Every day

His name is JESUS ,and because
He loves us ,one and all ,
He’d love to visit your house
If you’d like to have Him call :
So ,if some time you should decide –
Just ask Him in ,and He’ll abide –
This wonderful Guest at our house , who makes our home a heaven
Every day .

As I walk down lif'e's highway

As I was walking down life's highway many years ago I came upon a sign that read
Heavens Grocery Store.
When I got a little closer
the doors swung open wide
And when I came to myself
I was standing inside.

I saw a host of angels.
They were standing everywhere
One handed me a basket and said
"My child shop with care."

Everything a human needed
was in that grocery store
And what you could not carry
you could come back for more.

First I got some Patience.
Love was in that same row.
Further down was Understanding,
you need that everywhere you go.

I got a box or two of Wisdom
and Faith a bag or two.
And Charity of course
I would need some of that too.

couldn't miss the Holy Ghost
It was all over the place.
And then some Strength and Courage to help me run this race.

My basket was getting full but
I remembered I needed Grace,
And then I chose Salvation for
Salvation was for free
I tried to get enough of that
to do for you and me.

Then I started to the counter
to pay my grocery bill,
For I thought I had everything
to do the Masters will.

As I went up the aisle I saw
Prayer and put that in,
For I knew when I stepped outside
I would run into sin.

Peace and Joy were plentiful,
the last things on the shelf.
Song and Praise were hanging near so I just helped myself.

Then I said to the angel
"How much do I owe?"
He smiled and said
"Just take them everywhere you go." > > > Again I asked "Really now,
how much do I owe?"
"My child " he said,
"God paid your bill a long,
long time ago."
