Things I Wish To Remenber

Things I Wish To Remenber

That it pays to forget those things that are behind .
That what I would do for Christ must needs be done for others.
That a good name is rather to be chosen than riches.
That the greatest thing in all the world is love .
That the way to find happiness is forget self .
That there is no happiness in things .
That a word once spoken can never be recalled .
That no suffering is too great if it contributes to the building and nurture of Christian character .
That to correct one fault in myself is greater than to correct ten in my neighbor .
That yesterday is gone forever ; tomorrow may never come ; today , only is mine .
That time is too precious to be used other than for God’s glory .

Faith

Faith

Faith on which one can live whole life
Faith on which one can keep hopes alive

Faith on which one can build confidence
Faith on which one can overcome encumbrance

Faith on which one can strengthen determination
Faith on which one can accomplish aspiration

Faith on which one can take dream to reality
Faith on which one can continue to live with ecstasy

Faith on which one can gain even after loosing
Faith on which one can refill the color in life by proving

Faith on which one can fight against injustice
Faith on which one can rest in paradise & peace

Faith in good faith becomes stronger & stronger
God will not be able to hold much longer & do wonder

Faith's Touch , Faith's Wonder

Faith's Touch, Faith's Wonder

“That I might touch the hem of His garment,
Reach down and touch the tassel of blue.”
Breaking the stern Levitical commandment
Which declared her defiled and under a curse
[Chapter fifteen, dreaded twenty-fifth verse],
She stooped and touched – and oh the feeling
Of coming out of a grave, of instant healing,
The flow arrested, and resurrection health!

Those painful years of perpetual pleading
With Jewish physicians, adept in bleeding
Patients to death; broken and bleeding,
She had lost all her wealth.
She stooped and touched – her heart reeling
With torrents of joy at the miracle of healing;
She came and fell at the feet of the Lord
[Jesus, Saviour, Healer, God! ];
Narrated her story, fearing and trembling,
The terrible years of quacksalving remembering,
Tears of joy she could not arrest. The disciples’ blunder,
Ignorant of faith [its touch and wonder],
Unable to grasp the Lord's benediction:
“Your faith has healed you; be healed of your affliction! ”

Faith's Checkbook

Faith's Checkbook

The Word, Necessary Food
"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4).

If God so willed it we could live without bread, even as Jesus did for forty days; but we could not live without His Word. By that Word we were created, and by it alone can we be kept in being, for he sustaineth all things by the Word of His power. Bread is a second cause; the LORD Himself is the first source of our sustenance. He can work without the second cause as well as with it; and we must not tie Him down to one mode of operation. Let us not be too eager after the visible, but let us look to the invisible God. We have heard believers say that in deep poverty, when bread ran short, their appetites became short, too; and to others, when common supplies failed, the LORD has sent in unexpected help.

But we must have the Word of the LORD. With this alone we can withstand the devil. Take this from us, and our enemy will have us in his power, for we shall soon faint. Our souls need food, and there is none for them outside of the Word of the LORD. All the books and all the preachers in the world cannot furnish us a single meal: it is only the Word from the mouth of God that can fill the mouth of a believer. LORD, evermore give us this bread. We prize it above royal dainties.

Prayer

I sat down and wept and mourned for days, and I continued fasting and praying before the God of heaven.

-Nehemiah 1:4

Faithful, everyday prayer is absolutely critical for Christians. It’s our communication with the one and only God that helps us learn His will for us. Unfortunately, though, prayer is a last resort, even for many believers!

Prayer is not a magic trick. It’s communication with God that should go hand in hand with our actions to honor Him. Prayer is not a substitute for work but a preparation for work!

Prayer focuses our attention and demands our discipline. Prayers do not need to be great public spectacles because it’s our personal and private prayers that truly move God and make a difference.

Prayer is surrender to the Lord’s will. It’s not trying to pull God into our plans, but rather it’s putting our plans in line with His will.

It’s in prayer that we experience God and are exposed to His greatness. It’s in prayer that we make ourselves available to God.

I challenge you today to spend some time alone with God…making yourself available to Him!

How to Save a Nation

How to Save a Nation
Colossians 1:3-14

July 4th is the day we honor our nation's founding. We celebrate it in many ways: watching firework displays with their dazzling colors and sounds; participating in backyard barbecues in the company of family and friends; and watching colorful parades with high school bands and armed forces units marching by. It is a day filled with activity.

This July 4th finds our nation in need of rescue. Our country's slide down the slippery slope of godless living has accelerated. It started years ago when our nation departed from God's Word and established a belief system that separated our country from God and His ways. As a nation, we are now reaping a bitter harvest from those decisions in every level of government and business, in our communities, and in our families as well.

However, there is still hope. While we have seen our nation's values change dramatically, our God has not changed. He continues to have the power to turn our country back to Him. Scripture makes it clear that when Christ-followers obey the command to pray (Colossians 4:2), God is willing to act in response to those prayers. Because our nation's future is in our leaders' hands and they, in turn, are in God's hands (Romans 13:1), our prayers for them can have a powerful impact.

This July 4th, won't you add in a time of prayer for our nation? Establish a new tradition, one of appealing to God on behalf of our government's leaders. Then continue to pray until God turns our country toward trusting in Christ alone.

Jesus - Living Cornerstone

According to the people at “Ripley’s Believe it or Not,” the cornerstone of the Washington Monument, which was laid on July 4, 1884, disappeared and has never been found. How could someone have carried off the stone which weighed 24,500 pounds?

Jesus is the cornerstone of our faith and the church. Some might argue that our cornerstone is missing. This is not true. He is a living stone and he lives and reigns in his church from the glories of heaven. He is not lost, we know where he is.
