A Glimpse of Grace

A Glimpse of Grace
North South East and West
He holds the corners in His hand
From each mountain flows a stream
Holy fingers caress the land.

Then, lifts the sun in the sky
As misty valleys touched with dew
Glistening flowers adorn the earth
When God stooped down, He knew.
All that we needed was provided
Stretched endlessly to the sea
The moon and stars direct the tide
Intricately planned for you and me.
Yet, we question and ponder
Ask God what will happen next
As the wonders of the world fade
The human heart remains perplexed.
Always searching for the answer
When four corners He draws near
We stumble and fall a million times
Until we cry out to Him in fear.
But, He stoops down, finds us
Then wipes the tears from every face
When at last we look up to Him
And feel the awe of this place.
Hear the sound of a newborn cry
When startled to run the race
He stoops down to this new life
Instills the first glimpse of grace.
Where unfailing love will abound
Unearned, but still He gives
A Glimpse of Grace revealed in Him
Cries out! "Our Savior lives!"
Psalm 18:35
"You give me Your shield of victory, and Your right hand sustains me; You stoop down to make me great."

Put God In It

Put God In It

So, you say there's something missing but you simply can't define
What could be that little something that would satisfy your mind
You've been working for your money and you even get to play
But you're feeling blue and empty at the closing of your day
Well here's a suggestion

Try, oh try putting God in it
In every hour and every minute
If you feel like there is something amiss
Come to the well where redemption is
Cause you haven't lived one worthwhile minute
Until you have tried putting God in it

There's a corner in your bosom that sustains an empty ache
And no fancy fame or fortune has the power its smart to take
But there's a valid reason for within each living soul
There's a holy reservation for the One who makes us whole
So here's a suggestion

Try; oh try putting God in it
He sustains every hour every minute
If you know there is something missing
It is so for a very good reason
Cause you haven't lived one valuable minute
Until you have tried putting God in it

And you've never seen a rainbow 'til you know about its birth
'Til you know the Great Creator who rules over Heaven and earth
You'll never know fulfillment 'til you share each day with Him
Oh won't you take a minute as another day grows dim
And heed this suggestion

Try; oh try putting God in it
He sustains every hour every minute
As we are stumbling, staggering and lurching
He is the answer to all of our searching
For you haven't lived one blessed minute
Until you have tried putting God in it
Try; oh try to take a little minute
To find out why you need to put God in it

Give Us Daily Awareness

    Give Us Daily Awareness

On life’s busy thoroughfares
We meet with angels unawares ,
So , Father , make us kind and wise
So we may always recognize
The blessings that are ours to take ,
The friendships that are to make
If we but open our heart’s door wide
To let the sunshine of love inside ,
For God is not in far distant places
But in loving hearts and friendly faces .

The art of awareness is the art of learning how to wake up to the
eternal miracle of life with its limitless possibilities .

A SIMPLE ACT OF KINDNESS

A SIMPLE ACT OF KINDNESS

It was 2:00 aftennoon on a Saturday and everyone was rushing to lunch.

As I pulled into a local fast food restaurant and parked,
I noticed an old pickup truck with a trailer attached.

The driver had pulled into the narrow parking lot and mistakenly
tried to exit via the one way drive through lane. Unfortunately
he was going the wrong way and cars were stacked up waiting to
get out.

When I arrived, he was frantically trying to get turned around
and out of everyone's way. There were a lot of people watching
but no one offered to help.

I walked over to the driver's window and asked if he needed
help. The driver was an older gentleman. He was completely
exhausted.

The truck did not have power steering and in his attempt to get
turned around he had jackknifed the trailer.

I could tell that he was scared and did not know how to get out.

After stopping all the traffic and asking everyone to be patient
for a few minutes, I guided him back and forth until he finally
got the truck and trailer turned around. I patted him on the
shoulder, told him "God Bless you and good luck."

He stated to me that he had just been released from the
hospital and that he was so scared; he thought he was going to
have another heart attack right on the spot.

He said, "you're a good man and I can never thank you enough."
I could tell that his thank you was truly from the heart.
He then drove away.

Working in construction all my life, I have been required to
drive vehicles with a trailer behind them.

To me this was a fairly easy situation to correct.
To an inexperienced driver it can be a nightmare.

A simple thank-you was certainly sufficient for such a little
gesture of kindness.

What happened next was a total surprise and an event I will
never forget.

As I opened the door and walked into the restaurant, everyone in
the restaurant stood up, clapped and shouted "good job".

No words can ever explain how good I felt.
