We Are The Clay

We Are The Clay

The clay cannot tell,
the Potter what to do
if its to be made . . .
into something new.

For, it is full of lumps,
hard and marred places
it needs His grace
to fill in all the spaces.

The clay cannot say,
to the Potter, do this
it needs to be pliable
or blessings it will miss.

For, it is full of cracks,
fissures and large gaps
He needs to work His mercy
into the wayward scraps.

The clay cannot tell,
the Potter what to do
it must remain pliant . . .
until He is good and through!

The Road To Calvary

The Road To Calvary

The Bible is an atlas
and the verses are a map
that shows each person
exactly where they're at.
Don't take a detour,
no telling where they'll lead
for there aren't any detours
on the road to Calvary.

Jesus is the bridge
that connects us to our God
and He walked the trail
that you and I have trod.
He paved the way for us
by dying for our sin.
How we don't have to go
exactly where He's been.

He walked the road to Calvary
and took a trip to hell
and preached to the sinners
that had already fell.
He showed them the scars
that upon His back He bore
and those that came back with Him,
a robe and crown they wore.

Listen very carefully
for now it's time to go.
Jesus loves you more
than you will ever know.
Follow the map
that He left for you and me,
for there aren't any detours
on the road to Calvary.

The Reasons Why

The Reasons Why

Two People lie sick, each a child of the King
Both with fevers increasing, both which death longs to sting
Both have hands laid upon them, both are covered with prayer
Both are anointed with oil, both are showered with care

But for one there's a miracle, he is raised from death's bed
Beyond all medical reasons, the sickness has fled
But, the other has left us, though the prayers had been so bold
And we stand at the casket with the body so cold

When Your Word was true for both
And to both, Your love, You gave
Why is so, Lord
That one died, but the other you saved?

"Lord," we are asking, "why did the child die?"
"All the Scriptures that we stood on… were they all just a lie?"
"What happened God? How much faith did we need?"
"We truly thought we had a least a mustard seed!"

But, we must realize that if we could figure God out
Surely, in our eyes, He would lose much of His clout
Being unsearchable is a part of being divine
No one really wants a God smaller than their own mind

For now, the sky may not be blue, there's nothing but rain
Yet, we still praise God in the midst of our pain
And as hurt as we are, we know God is there
As we learn to accept that life is not fair

But, God has a made a promise, one day He'll share His 'secret things'
Let us meditate upon that, and the gladness that it brings
For after that awesome Rapture, or one the day that I may die...
I will get to ask my questions... and learn The Reasons Why

Our knowledge is fragmentary, incomplete and imperfect, and our prophecy, that is, our teaching, is fragmentary, incomplete and imperfect. But when the complete and perfect comes, the incomplete and imperfect will vanish away. When I was a child, I could talk, think and reason things out only as a child could. But, now that I've become a man, I am able to talk, think and reason beyond a child's level. But, for now we are still like children looking in a mirror that gives only a dim and blurred reflection of reality... unable to understand, but a time will come when we shall see things in true reality and God face to face! When that time comes, then I shall know and understand things fully and clearly, in the way that God has always known and fully understood me. The words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 13:9-12

Life Lessons

 Life Lessons

It has been said that life is the most patient teacher. You will be presented with the same experience over and over until you learn the best way to deal with the situation. This is not because life is cruel. Rather, it is because things have a way of coming back to haunt us when we don't deal with them. One form of intelligence is the ability to learn from mistakes. When you are presented with a painful experience, take the time to think about how you can avoid it in the future. This is an example of a lesson learned.

Poem on Faith

Poem on Faith

To have faith is to defy logic. It takes faith to think positively.
It takes faith to believe that there is a loving God who cares deeply about our pain.
To believe in life, the universe, or yourself after numerous failures is to have courage
Faith is an act of courage. It is choosing to get up in the morning and face our fears and believe that God will help us
Faith is choosing to believe that even though we may have failed one hundred times before that we can succeed the next time.

Life and Death

Life,
A rough road
With no certain
Direction.

Life
That's full of challenges.
Oftentimes,
It's unpredictable.

Life,
A precious gift from God
That no one knows
When and where to end.

Life
Where one has to choose
Whether to do good or evil
According to his own free will.

Life
That can lead failure to success
Or success to failure.
Therefore, no one really knows.

Death
Is the cessation of breath.
It's a painful departure
And hard for anyone to endure.

Death is an inevitable happening.
Everyone has his own time frame.
It's a mysterious and unpredictable game,
But one should be ready for anything.

Though everyone has a life span on earth,
Save thy soul and never fear death.
In Jesus Christ's name,
Let no death put you to shame.
