If I Could Fly . . .

If I Could Fly . . .

Oh, if I could fly away,
I would soar into my Savior's arms
there I would find my rest
and I'd be safe from all that harms.

I would take off,
and rest under the shadow of His wings
there I would be free from all the strife
that living in this world brings.

Oh, if I could fly away,
like an eagle, I'd mount and rise
to where my true love waits for me
and perfect rest would be my prize.

I would go up to Him,
and lay all my burdens at His feet
for I know that He has promised me
His peace, my soul shall meet.

Oh, if I could fly away,
if only I had wings like a dove
I would climb all the way to heaven
and rest in His eternal love.

I would sky-rocket,
to where I'd rest in His stillness
I would soak in all His calm
while I basked in His quietness.

Oh, if I could fly away,
I would take you along with me . . .
and together we'd find blissful rest
throughout ~ eternity!
Psalm 55.6
KJV

dove for then would I fly away , and be
rest,”

Reach Out In Love

Reach Out In Love

Each lonely tear ran down a cheek
not caring of another.
And each absorbed in selfish woe
did not know of the other.

Oh, how can we be any good
just thinking of ourselves?
And how can we become like Christ,
if locked inside our shells?

Don't be afraid to break your shell.
Give sacrificially.
Reach out in love with both your arms
and live life faithfully.

Each lonely tear ran down a cheek
not caring of another.
And each absorbed in selfish woe
did not know of the other.

Get up, go to work, go home, go to bed

Get up, go to work, go home, go to bed

Get up, go to work, go home, go to bed.
Surely my life’s worth more than this I said?
Working very hard and late ev’ry day
to earn enough money my debts to pay.

Life must consist of so much more than this.
Someone please tell me what the purpose is!
Is there anyone who can please tell me
what I must do in order to be free?

Then, I heard the Lord Jesus say to me.
“You can have life much more abundantly.
For I’m the door and if you enter in
then your brand new life with Me will begin.”

“For all things of earth will just pass away
but the life that I give is here to stay.”
So I turned around and I followed Him
and my life's no longer looking so grim.

I still have to work hard to earn my pay
but with Jesus there’s purpose in each day,
What’s more the future’s certain and secure
with Jesus in His kingdom for evermore.

The Carpenter

The Carpenter
Once upon a time two brothers who lived on adjoining farms fell
into conflict. It was the first serious rift in 40 years of
farming side by side, sharing machinery, and trading labor and
goods as needed without a hitch.

Then the long collaboration fell apart. It began with a small
misunderstanding and it grew into a major difference, and
finally it exploded into an exchange of bitter words followed by
weeks of silence.

One morning there was a knock on John's door. He opened it to
find a man with a carpenter's toolbox. "I'm looking for a few
days work," he said. "Perhaps you would have a few small jobs
here and there. Could I help you?"

"Yes," said the older brother. "I do have a job for you.
Look across the creek at that farm. That's my neighbor, in
fact, it's my younger brother.

Last week there was a meadow between us and he took his
bulldozer to the river levee and now there is a creek between
us.

Well, he may have done this to spite me, but I'll go him one
better. See that pile of lumber curing by the barn?

I want you to build me a fence - an 8-foot fence - so I won't
need to see his place anymore. Cool him down, anyhow."

The carpenter said, "I think I understand the situation.
Show me the nails and the post-hole digger and I'll be able to
do a job that pleases you."

The older brother had to go to town for supplies, so he helped
the carpenter get the materials ready and then he was off for
the day.

The carpenter worked hard all that day measuring, sawing,
nailing. About sunset when the farmer returned, the carpenter
had just finished his job.

The farmer's eyes opened wide, his jaw dropped.

There was no fence there at all. It was a bridge.

A bridge stretching from one side of the creek to the other!

A fine piece of work, handrails and all, and the neighbor,
his younger brother, was coming across, his hand outstretched.

"You are quite a fellow to build this bridge after all I've said
and done."

The two brothers stood at each end of the bridge and then they
met in the middle, taking each other's hand.

They turned to see the carpenter hoist his toolbox on his
shoulder.

"No, wait!  Stay a few days. I've got a lot of other projects
for you," said the older brother.

"I'd love to stay on," the carpenter said,

"but, I have many more bridges to build."

The Fruit of the Spirit

The Fruit of the Spirit

Within each of us,
the Holy Spirit lives
and His awesome power
in our life's He wants to give.

But, we must feel the fire,
the burning of desire
to call upon His strength
so His might we'll acquire.

Once we have received,
this supernatural gift
our souls will belong to Him
and we'll no longer drift.

For, He'll anchor us in His love,
in all things, we'll have peace
and His unexplainable joy
in our life's will never cease.

We'll have patience for everyone,
to others we'll be kind
His gentleness and goodness
will fill our hearts and minds.

People will see that our faith,
is kind and full of justice
for our meekness will shine
as they learn to trust us.

Within each of us,
the Holy Spirit lives
and all of His fruits . . .
the Holy Spirit wants to give!
