Summit

Summit

We followed Him up the mountain to pray
When all that He is began to burst through.
His glorious majesty on display,
The splendor within Him steadily grew.

His face soon became as bright as the sun.
His clothes white as lightning flashing at night
And as we beheld the Radiant One,
We woke from our slumber into His light.

Moses appeared, representing the law
And Elijah came for the prophets too.
While they conversed we looked on in awe,
Fearfully wondering what we should do.

Peter unknowingly shouted out loud,
"Let us build shelters for each of you three!"
Yet while he was speaking, there came a cloud
Overshadowing us with brilliancy.

God's heavenly presence fell upon us,
Approving the one the scriptures spoke of,
As everything came together in Jesus;
The Lamb to be slain through unselfish love.

Six days before, He predicted His death,
Yet all that He told us remained concealed.
But then as we tried to gather our breath,
The promise of God was clearly revealed.

"This is my chosen and dearly loved Son,"
God's voice softly thundered into our ears,
"Listen to Him!" He said and was done,
While Jesus remained to calm our fears.

Oh the scriptures foretold within their scrolls,
The glorious servant of suffering
Who was beaten and killed to save our souls
And arise from the grave as Christ our King!

The law and prophets reflected God's light
As His presence swiftly surrounded us,
But the glory of God stood in our sight
And the culmination was marvelous!

Salvation Magnified

Salvation Magnified

What else could man deserve than death,
from living on his sinful death?
No gold nor silver can redeem,
nor human hands with evil scheme.
But God abounding full of grace,
He came for men of every race.
Through Jesus Christ, He came to save,
such mankind destined to the grave.
With love, He died in our stead,
with love, He rose up from the dead!
And now, Salvation magnified,
Our Lord, God Jesus glorified!
Full repentance and surrender,
live in faith and trust our Savior.

My imagination.

My imagination.

Imagine if for the last time, you
closed your eyes but could still see,
where else other than earth, do you
think you could really be.

If behind your heavy eyelids, there
was this wonderful place,
everything was peaceful and warm,
and there was no rat race.

All you felt in your heart was joy,
and you were free from pain,
where the sun was always shining,
and never did it rain.

Love took precedence over hate, and
no battles were fought,
kindness was a natural gift that
flourished, no need for it to be taught.

Well I can imagine all this, without
it being the last time i close my eyes,
it's a wonderful place called heaven,
that accepts a life when it dies.

His Pow'rs Attain

His Pow'rs Attain

The earths do quake and mountains shake,
The seas do roar and comes before.
The storms do break, hear noise they make,
O nature's lore, your wrath devour.

Now guns do fire which men desire,
Yes bombs do blow and overthrow.
Yet lusts admire though souls do tire,
O to and fro do evil grow.

Then comprehend short lives do end,
Those flowers die come moments by.
Though deeds do trend and hearts amend,
O true we cry that death is nigh.

Fear not, my soul, when troubles howl,
For God, He reigns, He's Sovereign.
For one and all, He made things whole,
'Tis my refrain,--"His pow'rs attain!"
