Today I shall Live

As the light shines through my window I awaken.
I am reminded once more that today is another day stolen from borrowed time.
Today I will live and live to will. I will be thankful for all I love and all I have.
Every breath taken in shall be full as I take in the world around me.
I will push away the pain, hide my tears and sorrow and drown out all that threatens my very being.
Today I will climb that rock and sit on top staring and soaking in the beauty of nature, of life.
I will let the wind whisper in my ears and flow through me filling my every sense, breathing life once more into my soul.
Just for today I shall truly live, making the best of everything, because I know as the sun sets and sleeps, so shall I.
I will be there once more to watch the last ray of the sun disappear, knowing that one day it may never awaken me.
Just for today I will live.

In Christ Alone

In Christ Alone
In Christ alone my hope is found
In Christ alone who turned my life around
In Christ alone who protects me
In Christ alone who has a plan for me
In Christ alone who saved you and I
In Christ alone who sacrificed His life
In Christ alone I am delivered
In Christ alone I am healed
In Christ alone I am protected
In Christ alone He has provided
In Christ alone I now have life
In Christ alone I now have my sword to fight
In Christ alone who guided me through
In Christ alone who has made me new
In Christ alone what a friend I have in you
In Christ alone my all in all I love you

Don't Quit

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns
As every one of us sometimes learns.
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out:
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far:
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

When you have God in your heart the battle is already won.
You may not see it yet, but it will come !

Music

Sweet melody amidst the moving spheres
Breaks forth, a solemn and entrancing sound,
A harmony whereof the earth's green hills
Give but the faintest echo; yet is there
A music everywhere, and concert sweet!
All birds which sing amidst the forest deep
Till the flowers listen with unfolded bells;
All winds that murmur over summer grass,
Or curl the waves upon the pebbly shore;
Chiefly all earnest human voices rais'd
In charity and for the cause of truth,
Mingle together in one sacred chord,
And float, a grateful incense, up to God.

A Little Country Church

A Little Country Church

'Twas a little frame Country Church, standing over there.
Many times, I walked this way, under parents' loving care.

We had a special pew, room enough for a babe to have a bed,
As we sat quietly and listened to what the preacher said.

He was a man of God. The Spirit of God, through him, truly ran.
God's words he spoke to us. He was a Godly man.

We would sing the songs of old, about our Savior's love
And how awesome it would be when we get to Heaven above.

Our Church was out in the country, beside a lovely wood.
We'd listen to the gentle breeze blowing through the trees, as oft as we could.

It seemed so peaceful, the little Church ever so full of Grace.
Wouldn't it be a wonder, someday, just to go back and see this place?

I can almost hear the singing now, about how amazing was God's love;
How the river of life was ever flowing in Heaven, there, above.

When a soul was saved by grace, the Angels would shout and sing
For the victory of our Savior, to Heaven, more souls to bring.

There aren't as many little Churches, today, standing closely by.
We would have to go back to yesterday, maybe break down and cry.

But those days are gone forever. For, now, we have Churches of brick and stone.
But if we can still, in our hearts go back, then it's never really gone.
