Rust or Dust

Rust or Dust?

I am saving up for the future
got my treasures stored
I am investing in the day
when I’ll meet my Lord.

Though, I may not be rich,
I give to God what I can
and I am always willing
to lend a helping hand.

I don’t own a lot of things,
some say that I am nuts . . .
but, to deny worldly pleasures
takes an awful lot of guts.

I’m keeping my life simple,
so little time to spend here
and I’ll just bide my time
till His trumpet call I hear.

Rust to rust . . .
material things just decay
but ashes to ashes
means I’ll see resurrection day!

Jesus' Love For Us

JESUS' LOVE FOR US
We rejected you and you still love us
We cursed you and spit at you yet you still love us
We whipped you and stoned you yet you still love us
We killed you and you still love us


I may never see tomorrow,
There's no guarantee,
And things that happened yesterday
Belong to history.

I can't predict the future,
I cannot change the past,
I have just the present memories
To cherish as my last.

I must use this moment wisely,
For it will pass away,
And then be lost forever
As a part of yesterday.

I must exercise compassion;
Help the fallen to their feet,
Be a friend unto the friendless,
Help to make their life complete.

The unkind things I do today,
May never be undone,
And friendships that I fail to win,
May never more be won.

I may not have another chance
On bended knees to pray,
I thank God with a humble heart
For giving me this day!

Where Peaceful Waters Flow

 We see God's handy-work all around us in nature, and I wanted the person hearing or reading these words, to realize that.

Where Peaceful Waters Flow

The clouds break forth the streams of light
To dance upon the earth,
And cradled in the sands of time,
Comes a newborn babies'' birth.
A gentle breeze blows through the night,
It whispers through the grass,
And ripples on the water form
As rain glistens on the glass.

And you listen to the sound,
The Lords' presence all around.
He summons us to go
Where peaceful waters flow.

A rainbow arcs across the sky,
A promise is displayed.
The graceful flight of a butterfly,
It takes my breath away.
The autumn leaves in their splendor
Fall gracefully to the earth,
And stars proclaim their song at night,
What is their beauty worth?

a "know" (at the end of the third line) was changed to "say".

was changed to "Even so, it is well with my soul".

This hymn was written after traumatic events
in Spafford’s life. The first was the 1871 Great Chicago Fire which ruined him financially (he had been a successful lawyer and had invested significantly in property in the area of Chicago which was decimated by the great fire). His business interests were further hit by the economic downturn of 1873 at which time he had planned to travel to Europe with his family on the SS Ville du Havre. In a late change of plan, he sent the family ahead while he was delayed on business concerning zoning problems following the Great Chicago Fire. While crossing the Atlantic, the ship sank rapidly after a collision with a sea vessel, the Loch Earn, and all four of Spafford's daughters died. His wife Anna survived and sent him the now famous telegram, "Saved alone . . .". Shortly afterwards, as Spafford traveled to meet his grieving wife, he was inspired to write these words as his ship passed near where his daughters had died.[3]
Bliss called his tune Ville du Havre, from the name of the stricken vessel.[4]
The Spaffords later had three more children, one of whom, their only son, Horatio Goertner Spafford, died at the age of four, of scarlet fever in 1880. In 1881, the Spaffords, including baby Bertha and newborn Grace, set sail for Israel. The Spaffords moved to Jerusalem and helped found a group called the American Colony; its mission was to serve the poor. The colony later became the subject of the Nobel prize winning Jerusalem, by Swedish novelist Selma Lagerlöf.[3]

How is Your Heart ?

HOW IS YOUR HEART?

Life offers right and wrong things to do
Be very careful on the journey you trod
Pause for just a moment and think…
Is your heart right with God?

It is easy to want our own way
Be lifted from darkness into light
God is watching the path you take
Just be sure your heart is right.

Your heart must be right with God
Keep it tender and always be kind
Let Him guide your life every day

Things may look right in what you do
But how is it…in God’s eyes?
Be careful to not be deceived
Wrong looks right, but it’s a disguise.
