Thou Art O God

Thou art, O God, the life and light
    Of all this wondrous world we see;
Its glow by day, its smile by night,
Are but reflections caught from Thee.
Where'er we turn, thy glories shine,
And all things fair and bright are Thine!

When Day, with farewell beam, delays
Among the opening clouds of Even,
And we can almost think we gaze
    Thro' golden vistas into Heaven--
Those hues, that make the Sun's decline
So soft, so radiant, LORD! are Thine.

When Night, with wings of starry gloom,
O'ershadows all the earth and skies,
Like some dark, beauteous bird, whose plume
    Is sparkling with unnumbered eyes--
That sacred gloom, those fires divine,
So grand, so countless, LORD! are Thine.

When youthful Spring around us breathes,
    Thy Spirit warms her fragrant sigh;
And every flower the Summer wreaths
Is born beneath that kindling eye.
Where'er we turn, thy glories shine,
And all things fair and bright are Thine.

Praise Elevates us into God’s Presence and Power
Paul and Silas knew the secret of how to lift their hearts above their troubles and enter into God’s presence and power. Through praise and worship their hearts were raised into the joyous presence and peace of God, and provided God a channel for his power to operate in their circumstances.

The Bible says that God inhabits in the praises of His people (Psalms 22:3). In other words, God “dwells” in the atmosphere of His praise. This means that praise is not merely a reaction from coming into His presence - Praise is a vehicle of faith which brings us into the presence and power of God! Praise and worship is the “gate-pass” which allows us to enter the sacredness of His glory. The psalmist writes, “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name” (Psalms 100:4).

This corresponds with Jesus’ teaching, that His presence will inhabit the gathering of believers who congregate in His name: “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20). A “gathering in His name” means that Jesus must be the focus, the center of the assemblage. He must be the one preached about, sung about — the one praised and worshiped. “I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee” (Hebrews 2:12). Consequently, Christ’s presence, along with His virtue and anointing, is manifested in this type of gathering.

Have you ever noticed when “gifts of the Spirit” operate in a church service? The power and anointing of the Holy Spirit usually becomes evident, subsequent to a time of worship and praise. Some think that worship is a response after the Holy Spirit moves upon them. However, it’s the other way around. God’s presence responds when we move upon Him with worship! Lifting up Jesus Christ through praise and worship invokes the Lord’s presence and power to flow in our midst.I Challenge you my brothers and sisters in Christ to do it .As always everything said , is by the love Christ

Blue Roses

Why do I always have to be the one that starts to do laundry and there's no
detergent?  Well, I guess it was time for me to do my store run, which
included light bulbs, paper towels, trash bags and Clorox. So off I go.

I scurried around the store, gathered up my goodies, and headed for the
checkout counter only to be blocked in the narrow aisle by a young man that
appeared to be about sixteen-years- old. I wasn't in a hurry, so I patiently
waited for the boy to realize that I was there. This was when he waved his
hands excitedly in the air and declared in a loud voice, "Mommy, I'm over
here."

It was obvious now, he was mentally challenged, and also startled as he
turned and saw me standing so close to him, waiting to squeeze by.  His
eyes widened and surprise exploded on his face as I said, "Hey Buddy,
what's your name?"

"My name is Denny and I'm shopping with my mother," he responded proudly.
"Wow," I said, "that's a cool name; I wish my name was Denny, but my name
is Hal."

"Hal, like Halloween?" he asked.

"Yes," I answered. "How old are you Denny?"

"How old am I now, Mommy?" he asked his mother as she slowly came over from
the next aisle.  "You're fifteen-years-old Denny; now be a good boy and let
the man pass by."

I acknowledged her and continued to talk to Denny for several more minutes
about summer, bicycles and school. I watched his brown eyes dance with
excitement because he was the center of someone's attention. He then
abruptly turned and headed toward the toy section.

Denny's mom had a puzzled look on her face and thanked me for taking the
time to talk with her son. She told me that most people wouldn't even look
at him, much less talk to him. I told her that it was my pleasure and then
I said something I have no idea where it came from, other than by the
prompting of the Holy Spirit.

I told her that there are plenty of red, yellow and pink roses in God's
garden, however, "Blue Roses" are very rare and should be appreciated for
their beauty and distinctiveness. You see, Denny is a Blue Rose and if
someone doesn't stop and smell that rose with their heart and touch that
rose with their kindness, then they've missed a blessing from God.

She was silent for a second, then with a tear in her eye she asked, "Who
are you?"

Without thinking I said, "Oh, I'm probably just a dandelion but I sure love
living in God's garden."

Please the next time you see a BLUE ROSE don't turn your head and walk off,
take the time to smile and say Hello. Because by the grace of GOD this
mother could be you. This could be your child, grandchild, niece, nephew.
What a difference a moment can mean to that person or their family.

I am What I am

I am What I am!

I am what I am,
a child of God ~ He's made me
I'm just another sinner
who my Savior has set free.

I am what I am,
now that Jesus lives in me
justified and sanctified
by the cross of Calvary.

I am what I am,
saved by mercy and grace
a new creature in my Lord
running the faithful race.

I am what I am,
redeemed from the enemy
delivered from the powers of dark
into a light that's heavenly.

I am what I am,
an imitator of Jesus' life
the salt and light of the world
a laborer against man's strife.

I am what I am,
all my needs have been met
blessed with all spiritual blessings
for His stripes have paid my debt.

I am what I am,
strong in His power and might
I can do all things when I walk
by faith and not by sight.

I am what I am,
a child of God, Jesus made me
just another sinner who's found grace
and trusting Him ~ for what I can't see!

Growing Old Gracefully

Growing Old Gracefully

Lord, You have been good to me.
Now old age is creeping up.
The blessings You have bestowed
Have really overflowed my cup.

I thought as I became older,
I could slow down and enjoy life,
But old-age physical problems
Can bring on a little strife.

I want to grow old gracefully,
But it is not so easy to do.
With Your help, I can do it
And be a blessing to others too.

When I am ailing now and then,
Help me not to ever complain.
Nobody wants to hear all about
My various aches and my pain.

Lord, help me not to act grumpy
As old age is getting so near.
I want to grow old gracefully
And enjoy my last years here.

Dad's Guitar

Dad's Guitar

Oh, I still hear them from afar -
the strumming strings of dad's guitar.
I reminisce, my memory looms,
as I recall those Gospel tunes.

Respecting others was the rule
each week before our Sunday School
when all the children gathered 'round,
where love for God was always found.

The songs were simple, undisguised.
The children had them memorized.
With message certain, "Do not sin"
the many voices chimed right in.

The little children, guests unnamed,
all sang with voices unashamed.
They sang with all their hearts' desire
with love that raged as spreading fire.

Their simple passion met my ears
and turned emotions into tears.
Though sometimes dad would sing alone,
their smiling faces always shone.

So blessed we were to see the joy,
on every little girl and boy.
Approval came from pastor's nod
as every soul had praised our God.

I reminisce, my memory looms,
as I recall those Gospel tunes.
And I still hear them from afar -
the strumming strings of dad's guitar.
