In The Valleys I Grow
======================

Sometimes life seems hard to bear,
Full of sorrow, trouble and woe.
It's then I have to remember
That it's in the valleys I grow.

If I always stayed on the mountaintop
And never experienced pain,
I would never appreciate God's love
And would be living in vain.

I have so much to learn
And my growth is very slow,
Sometimes I need the mountaintops,
But it's in the valleys I grow.

I do not always understand
Why things happen as they do,
But I am very sure of one thing.
My Lord will see me through.

My little valleys are nothing
When I picture Christ on the cross
He went through the valley of death;
His victory was Satan's loss.

Forgive me Lord, for complaining
When I'm feeling so very low.
Just give me a gentle reminder
That it's in the valleys I grow.

Continue to strengthen me, Lord
And use my life each day,
To share your love with others
And help them find their way.

Thank you for valleys, Lord
For this one thing I know,
The mountaintops are glorious,
But it's in the valleys I grow!

Summer Beauty

Summer Beauty
The loveliness that I behold
So far beyond compare ,
The joy I feel within my soul
Tells me my Savior’s near .

I see Him in red roses
That bloom along the vine .
I feel him in the gentle wind
That sweeps the Summer pines .

The sky enfolds me like a glove
Of magic azure blue ,
And I’m reminded that His love
Surrounds me this way ,too !

A rolling carpet of green grass
Backs up this breathless view ,
And I know for me that Heaven
Will be in colors of this hue .

As the sun slips slowly out of sight
In its westerly direction ,
I want to whisper , “please don’t go ,
Don’t end this day’s perfection .”

Strong Faith

Strong Faith.
A small congregation in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains built New santuary on a piece of land willed to them by church member.
Ten days before the new church was to open, the local building inspector
informed the pastor that the parking lot was inadequate for the size of
the building Until the church doubled the size of the parking lot, they
would not be able to use the new sanctuary.

Unfortunately, the church with its undersized lot had used every inch of
their land except for the mountain against which it had been built. In
order to build more parking spaces, they would have to move the mountain
out of the back yard. Undaunted, the pastor announced the next Sunday
morning that he would meet that evening with all members who had
"mountain moving faith."
They would hold a prayer session asking God to remove the mountain from
the back yard and to somehow provide enough money to have it paved and
painted before the scheduled opening dedication service the following
week.

At the appointed time, 24 of the congregation's 300 members assembled
for prayer. They prayed for nearly three hours. At ten o clock the
pastor
said the final "Amen". "We'll open next Sunday as scheduled "
he assured everyone. "God has never let us down before, and I believe
He will be faithful this time too."

The next morning as he was working in his study there came a loud knock
at his door. When he called "come in", a rough looking construction
foreman appeared, removing his hard hat as he entered.
"Excuse me, Reverend. I'm from Acme Construction Company over in the
next county. We're building a huge shopping mall. We need some fill
dirt.
Would you be willing to sell us a chunk of that mountain behind the
church?

We'll pay you for the dirt we remove and pave all the exposed area free
of charge, if we can have it right away. We can't do anything else until
we get the dirt in and allow it to settle properly."
The little church was dedicated the next Sunday as originally planned
and there were far more members with "mountain moving faith" on opening
Sunday than there had been the previous week!

Would you have shown up for that prayer meeting?
Some people say faith comes from miracles.
But others know:
MIRACLES COME FROM FAITH

Resurrection Morn

Resurrection Morn
There was a morn ,a glorious morn ,
When Jesus Christ arose
Up from the sepulcher or rock ,
A victor o’er His foes .

There was an hour , a blesses hour ,
When Christ rose in my soul ,
To break the bonds of Satan’s might ,
And all my life control .

Oh , love , oh resurrection joy ;
Oh , life of Christ within ;
Our risen Lord , the victor
O’er death , and guilt , and sin .

Ah , look not back upon the tomb ;
Rise with thy Lord today ;
Receive Him in thy heart to dwell ;
The Life , the Truth , the Way .

The 100 Dollar Bill

A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a
$100 bill in a room of 200 people, and asked,

"Who would like this $100 bill?"

Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this $100 bill to one of you,
but first let me do this...."

He proceeded to crumple the $100 up.

He then asked, "Who still wants it?"

Still the hands were up in the air.

"Well".....he replied,

"What if I do this?".....and he dropped it on the ground and
started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.

He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.
"Now who still wants it?" he asked. Hands still shot up!

"My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson.
No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it...because
it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $100."

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground
into the dirt, by the decisions we make, and the circumstances
that come our way.

We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has
happened or what will happen, you never lose your value!

Dirty....clean.....crumpled....or finely creased.....
you are still priceless to those who love you.

The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know,
but by WHO WE ARE.

You are special....don't ever forget it.
Count your blessings..................NOT your problems.
