There Is a Man on the Cross

There Is a Man on the Cross

Whenever there is silence around me
By day or by night—
I am startled by a cry.
It came down from the cross—
The first time I heard it.
I went out and searched—
And found a man in the throes of crucifixion,
And I said, “I will take you down,”
And I tried to take the nails out of his feet.
But he said, “Let them be,
For I cannot be taken down
Until every man, every woman, and every child
Come together to take me down.”
And I said, “But I cannot bear your cry.
What can I do?”
And he said, “Go about the world—
Tell every one that you meet—
There is a man on the cross.”
Whenever there is silence around me
By day or by night—
I am startled by a cry.
It came down from the cross—
The first time I heard it.
I went out and searched—
And found a man in the throes of crucifixion,
And I said, “I will take you down,”
And I tried to take the nails out of his feet.
But he said, “Let them be,
For I cannot be taken down
Until every man, every woman, and every child
Come together to take me down.”
And I said, “But I cannot bear your cry.
What can I do?”
And he said, “Go about the world—
Tell every one that you meet—
There is a man on the cross.”

The Nagging Question Answered

The Nagging Question Answered

Why is it that the wicked seem
To prosper day by day?
They have all that their hands could want,
And float along the way.

While many are the righteous who,
God’s name would glorify;
But find so many things in life,
Their hearts to horrify.

This tempts the soul to often think,
God, after all, at evil winks.

The godless live their lives at ease,
Beneath a cloudless sky.
And often times they have no fear,
When it’s their time to die.

Yet saints are constantly at war,
And many troubles find;
Their conscience always pricks their heart,
And doubt deludes their mind.

This tempts the saint to take a seat
And learn his way at sinner’s feet.

But rest oh fretful soul in God,
And trust His plan for you.
His blessing is upon your path,
His eyes are on you too.

The wicked only have His frown,
Though feeling not the curse
Which like the sword of Damocles
Hangs over pride and purse.

The little that a righteous hath
More blessed than much which comes with wrath.

The Lord possesses heaven and earth,
And all shall one day be,
The possession of His chosen saints
For all eternity.

But see the wicked’s final end,
Which only time will tell.
Their sinful ways and godless life
Will land them straight in hell.

Your soul prepared to dwell in light
Theirs to endure an endless night.

Here I am Lord

I, the Lord of sea and sky,
I have heard my people cry.
All who dwell in dark and sin,
My hand will save.

I, who made the stars of night,
I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear my light to them?
Whom shall I send?

Here am I, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

I, the Lord of snow and rain,
I have borne my people's pain.
I have wept for love of them.
They turn away.

I will break their hearts of stone,
Give them hearts for love alone.
I will speak my words to them.
Whom shall I send?

Here am I, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

I, the Lord of wind and flame,
I will send the poor and lame.
I will set a feast for them.
My hand will save.

Finest bread I will provide,
'Til their hearts be satisfied.
I will give my life to them.
Whom shall I send?

Here am I, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

Journal of My Life with God 8

Journal of My Life with God 8

I could not imagine
What this life would bring
I just needed to be determined
To remain steadfast in my King

What a wonderful life journey
Despite hills and storms all topsy turvy
For I had walked through the valley
In His amazing Grace and Mercy

All these I have kept
In these journals of seven
Now I embark on the eighth
Anticipating an open heaven

Walk day by Day

Walk day by Day

Walk day by day
that’s all it takes
and those mistakes
that seem so hard to bear -
confess in prayer.

Tomorrow may
not be unmarred
but not so scarred
you’ll find as yesterday -
take time to pray.

A night away
God’s mercies new
will dawn for you
and waking you will find -
the Lord is kind.
His compassions never fail, they are
new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Heaven Bound

My life may not be roses but still I'm gonna be alright
Long as I got my Savior by my side
He freed me from the heavy chains that had bound my broken heart
Picked me up; gave me a brand new start

Now I'm on my way to Heaven; on my way to Heaven
I'm on my way to Heaven so I can't be stayin' long

I was servin' time in prison in a solitary cell
Sentenced by a judge and jury of myself
Then He blessed me, forgave me, touched me with His love
Shined down all His glory from above

Now I'm on my way to Heaven; I'm on my way to Heaven
I'm on my way to Heaven so I can't be stayin' long

And He walks with me everyday
Holds my hand and points the way

And He will walk with you everyday
The Shepard's lamp will guide you every step along the way

Now I'm on my way to Heaven; I'm on my way to Heaven
On my way to Heaven so I can't be staying long

I'm on my way to Heaven; I'm on my way to Heaven
I'm on my way to Heaven; would you like to come along
