I am Thirsty

I am  Thirsty!

Lord, I am thirsty,
I need more of You . . .
for, there's a spiritual drought
right now, I am going through.

Fill me with fresh hope,
take the sadness in my soul away
rain on me Your mercy
renew my heart, in You today.

Lord, I am thirsty,
my arms to You are opened wide
protect and defend me
come be my unwavering guide.

Make this dry season I'm in,
turn into Your valley's green
where living waters flow
so that on You, I'll always lean.

Lord, I am thirsty,
I need more of You . . .
restore in me my youthful faith
like the refreshing morning dew!

of thy power,in the beauties of holiness
from the womb of the morning:thou hast

God Winked at Me

God Winked at Me

God winked at me one time
To tell me that I was ok.
But I did not see it,
For I had such a busy day.

God gave me a small wave.
He tried to get my attention.
Again I did not see,
For I was having too much fun.

God waved even bigger,
Because He had something for me.
It was eternal life,
A gift from God, completely free.

But I ignored His hand.
My attention wasn't on Him.
I could not hear His call.
My life was filled up to the brim.

Then God got hold of me
And showed me a different way.
I now have much more time
And it's because I stopped to pray.

If by Rudyard Kipling

If  by   Rudyard  Kipling
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

We All Face Trials

We All Face Trials

We all face trials,
of many different kinds
some attack our bodies
others beset our minds.

Some assault our faith,
causing us to doubt
some assail our trust
tossing us all about.

We all have troubles,
just different situations
we all have suffered . . .
from diverse temptations.

Some know the results,
of falling for Satan’s lies
other’s feel the effects
of sin and compromise.

We all face trials,
temptations of all kinds
but we won’t be defeated
if we let joy fill out minds!

GOD OF OUR LIFE THROUGH ALL THE CIRCLING YEARS:

GOD OF OUR LIFE THROUGH ALL THE CIRCLING YEARS:

God of our life ,through all the circling years,
We trust in Thee ;
In all the past ,through all our hopes and fears,
Thy hand we see .
With each new day ,when morning lifts the veil ,
We own Thy mercies , Lord ,which never fail .

God of the past ,our times are in Thy hand ;
With us abide .
Lead us faith to hope’s true Promised Land ;
Be Thou our guide .
With Thee to bless ,the darkness shines as light ,
And faith’s fair vision changes into sight .

God of the coming years ,through paths unknown
We follow Thee ;
When we are strong ,Lord ,leave us not alone ;
Our Refuge be .
Be Thou for us in life our Daily Bread ,
Our heart’s true Home when all our years have sped .
