Praise God For Springtime

Praise God For Springtime

Trees are adorned with  green leaves.
The grass has turned green too.
Flowers are in bloom everywhere,
And I would like to pick a few.

Pretty pink and rosy red azaleas
Line my neighbor's cement walkway.
Blooms of beautiful Easter lilies
Greet me throughout the day.

God gives us different seasons
To enjoy His wondrous works of art.
With the beauty of the springtime,
He can gladden everyone's heart.

God teaches lessons through nature
As He reigns from His throne above.
He uses changes in the seasons
To show His power and wondrous love.

Springtime is a happy, joyous time
Of resurrection and of new birth
As seeds germinate and live again
And new growth springs from the earth.

Also during everyone's lifetime,
Each one needs to have a new birth.
We need to trust Jesus as our Savior
Before we leave this old earth.

Let Me Now Be Thine

Let Me Now Be Thine

When all the wax is stripped away
The varnish, what we do and say
Do others see just what they should,
The One for us Who shed His blood?
Or do they see our plans, our goals
Our dreams, ambitions that we hold?
They should not see us when they gaze
But rather He of Endless Days

O child of God, can, in your face,
The ones around you, Jesus trace?
Can they within your eyes behold
The Master’s gentleness untold?
Do you, when going on your way
Share Jesus’ truth with what you say?
They plain should see our lives confess
Our Jesus and His righteousness

Lay bare your Life, let Christ there reign
Let not another entrance
gain
For by His rule He will impart
A grace and pow’r within your heart
‘Twill give you guidance for your race,
O Lord, my heart will Thee embrace!
O let me now be Thine, all Thine:
My heart, my soul, my strength, my mind!

Heaven Is On My Mind

Heaven Is On My Mind

Someday I'll shed this mortal flesh
And fly away to my Heavenly home,
Leaving behind this old world,
And in sin no more will I roam.

The closer I get to that goal,
I think of Heaven more and more.
How will it be when I arrive
Upon that celestial, golden shore?

Yes, the gates are made of pearl,
And the streets are made of gold,
But also God's Word tells us
That the half has never been told.

Will my loved ones meet me there
When I arrive on that glad day,
Or will my Savior greet me first
When I arrive at my home to stay?

Will I have to wait in line
To see my dear Savior's face,
Or will I see Him just shortly
On my arrival in that place?

Am I too Heavenly minded
To be of any earthly good?
I must be about God's business
And work the way I should.

Still, I am so very anxious
To see my dear Savior's face.
I want to thank Him for His love
And for His matchless grace.

When I Exchange Life's Rugged Cross

When I Exchange Life's Rugged Cross

When I Exchange Life's Rugged Cross

When I exchange Life's rugged cross
For Eternity's crown;
When my soul is rid of sorrow
My burdens all laid down,
I will trade these rags so wretched
For a gown of Heaven's white,
And when I take the Hand of Jesus
Everything will be all right.

No more rough roads will be traveled;
No more thorns will pierce my side.
I'll be granted total healing
When all Heaven's gates swing wide!
No more poverty, or sadness,
Will have my thoughts ensnared,
For I will ever rest with Jesus
In the mansion He's prepared.

No more tears will wet night's darkness,
No more loneliness or dread;
No more fearing of the future,
Nor of what may lie ahead,
No more guilty pain of faulting,
Nor pangs of yesterday,
For I'll have reached Life Immortal
In the True and Living Way!

Earthly toil will then be ended;
No more darts by Satan hurled.
Splendid glories will all glisten
There in God's most sacred World;
Where bright streets of gold will meet me,
And "Life's Precious Gem" awaits
Amid the glimmer of all ages
Inside Heaven's Pearly Gates!

When I exchange Life's rugged cross
For Eternity's crown;
When my soul is rid of sorrow
My burdens all laid down,
I will trade these rags so wretched
For a gown of Heaven's white,
And when I take the Hand of Jesus
Everything will be all right.

A Soldier Comes Home

A Soldier Comes Home

He listens carefully to every sound.
He learns to keep an ear to the ground.
He does his duty in all kinds of weather,
And war and sleep do not go together.

Of battlefields, the soldier grows weary.
Oft times the outlook is very dreary,
But then his mind begins to roam
To happy scenes and thoughts of home.

With life so fragile from day to day,
The soldier doth all his priorities weigh.
Though terrors of war may take their toll,
Going home is the number one goal.

The plane lands at an American base.
A soldier departs with a smile on his face.
He exits the plane with a leap and a bound.
Then he kneels down and kisses the ground.

A Christian soldier stays on the alert.
He serves his Savior and does not desert.
He serves through trials, sorrows, and woe.
Victory comes through Christ who loves us so.

Battling temptations from day to day,
That soldier gets weary along the way.
Then happy thoughts of home may loom,
And victory seems to swallow the gloom.

He knows it will be worth it all
When before his Savior he will fall,
Because that soldier was saved by grace,
He'll go home to see Jesus face to face.
