Now and Then

Now and Then

Now as through a glass, but darkly ,
Future hopes by faith we trace;
Then in realms of radiant glory
We shall see our Savior’s face.

Now by faith we see Him only,
Our reflections may be dim;
Then when He appears to call us,
We shall really be like Him.

Now by scientific findings,
Men attempt to conquer space;
Then, our mighty Lord will take us
Where He as prepared our place.

Now, by His command , we spread
His great Gospel Truth abroad;
Then, we’ll see in His blest presence
Those we lead to Christ our Lord.

This Ting Cross of Pain

This Tiny Cross of Pain

Though prayers for healing
seemed in vain ,
God helped me learn
to live with pain ;
To use the very
thing I dread
For closer walk
with Him instead ;

And how to lend
a listening ear
To those who hurt\
and shed a tear
of symapathy,
or press their hand –
worth more because
I understand .

Dear God ,if that’s
the only way
You’d have me serve
from day to day ,
please use this
tiny cross of pain
for others
and for Heavens’s gain !

Amazing Grace [Did you know ]

John Newton wrote the words to one of the most beloved hymns of all time between 1760 and 1770, while working as an evangelical pastor. Son of the commander of a merchant ship, Newton was captain of a slave ship for many years, until he underwent a dramatic religious conversion while steering his vessel through a storm.
Repenting and regretting the misery he had inflicted on the thousands of human cargo he had transported across the Middle Passage for many years, he devoted his life to the Church, and wrote the lyrics to many hymns which are still popular today.
In 1780 Newton left Olney to become rector of St. Mary Woolnoth, St. Mary Woolchurch, in London. There he drew large congregations and influenced many, among them William Wilberforce. Newton continued to preach until the last year of life, although he was blind by that time. He died in London December 21, 1807.

Amazing Grace (How sweet the sound)
That sav'd a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev'd;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believ'd!

Thro' many dangers, toils and snare,
I have already come;
'Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall profess, within the vail,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who call'd me here below,
Will be for ever mine.

Tiny Rosebud

"It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of God's design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine."

"The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I.
GOD opens this flower so easily,
But in my hands they die."

"If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of God's design,
Then how can I have the wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?"

"So I'll trust in God for leading
Each moment of my day.
I will look to God for guidance
In each step of the way."

"The path that lies before me,
Only my Lord knows.
I'll trust God to unfold the moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose."

I Have Found Today

I Have Found Today
I’ve the door on Yesterday ,
It’s sorrows and mistakes ;
I’ve locked within its gloomy walls
Past failures and heartaches ;
And now I throw the key away
To seek another room ,
And furnish it with hope and smiles
And every springtime bloom .

No thought shall enter this abode
That has a hint of pain ,
And every malice and distrust
Shall never there in reign ;
I’ve shut the door on yesterday,
And thrown the key away –
Tomorrow holds no doubt for me
Since I have found Today .

I see not a step before me ,
As I tread on ,another year ;
But the past is still in God’s Keeping ,
The Future His Mercy shall clear ,
And what looks dark in the distance
May brighten as I draw near .
