Tyrants

 Tyrants

The tyrants are on the loose again;
They hate all but their own.
They give their lives to kill us,
To scatter our blood and bone.

They care not whom they murder,
Whether woman, man or child;
Their minds are full of fury;
Their sickness has gone wild.

To rule the world with violence
Is their one and only goal;
Terror is their method;
They want complete control.

We've seen it all before,
And we could not let it be;
We gave our lives for freedom,
For the world, and for you and me.

We fight all forms of oppression,
Helping victims far and near,
To keep the world from chaos,
To protect what we hold dear.

America's the only country
That gives with its whole heart,
And asks so very little;
We always do our part.

So let's unite again
To subdue our newest foe,
Whatever we must do,
Wherever we must go.

Let's show the world once more
That America is blessed
With people who are heroes,
Who meet each and every test.

Honor Our Military

Honor Our Military

Let's honor our military,
The men and women who serve,
Whose dedication to our country
Does not falter, halt or swerve.

Let's respect them for their courage;
They're ready to do what's right
To keep America safe,
So we can sleep better at night.

Let's support and defend our soldiers,
Whose hardships are brutal and cruel,
Whose discipline we can't imagine,
Who follow each order and rule.

Here's to those who choose to be warriors
And their helpers good and true;
They're fighting for American values;
They're fighting for me and you.

Veteran's Day Parade

Veteran's Day Parade

I feel privileged to attend
A yearly Veteran's Day parade.
Veterans should be honored
For the sacrifices they made.

Some of our younger veterans
Of recent wars take part.
In Iraq or in Afghanistan,
Each served from one's heart.

Veterans of the Persian War
Are proudly on display,
For they bravely served,
And they also march today.

Also veterans of Viet Nam
Are riding on a parade float.
I see they're getting older,
With graying hair, I note.

A number of veterans of Korea
Also are riding on display.
They seem weak and elderly.
They served in a brave way.

Then come uniformed veterans
Right from a history book page.
They served us in World War Two.
Now they are really up in age.

I thank God for the veterans,
Who served and did not fail.
They bravely stood for freedom
And served our nation well!

Eternal Spring

Eternal Spring

At last, at last the winter's past,
The sun is liquid gold,
In waiting hearts its utmost parts
Are no longer cold,
Gone, the wind so oft unkind,
Replaced by Heaven's breeze,
And aching joints, sweet spring anoints
And Heaven's laughter frees

And he'll run outside with his arms flung wide
In that eternal spring,
For there is no shadow in Heaven's meadow,
No pain or suffering,
Where all is new 'midst Heaven's dew
And the Son forever shines,
No winter's cold, no growing old
Around His throne divine

Forever spring where God is King
And where He reigns supreme,
The old life past; made new at last
In meadows lush and green,
No toil or strife where the Tree of Life
Blooms with endless yield,
Where Lord, with Thee someday we'll be
In Spring's eternal field

Spiritual Fruit

Spiritual Fruit

The fruits of the Spirit are given to us
By our Father from Heaven above
And through the Spirit of Christ Himself
He gave us the fruit of love

On this tree grows spiritual fruit
Such as joy that we can feel each day
He gives us peace and patience
But this tree has much more to say

There is kindness, goodness and faithfulness
That grows on this heavenly tree
They can change our lives right before our eyes
Not just for us, but for all to see

Then there's gentleness and self control
These fruits can be hard to bear
But because of the gift God gave to us
These things we all can share

Thank you Lord for this tree of life
That comes in this spiritual form
For without these fruits life can be real cold
But with them our lives feel warm.

Witnessing

Witnessing

Every time the gospel of the kingdom is preached for a witness, the end time draws a little more near,
So we must preach the gospel with words and deeds three-hundred and sixty-five days a year.

Heavenly Father, remind us to bear witness of the great Light, as Jesus' soon coming draws near.
Help us to exercise our faith in You, as the Holy Spirit draws to us a precious heart that is dear.

Help us to remember to smile and to show kindness to everyone we see today,
So that when people see our walk, they can say that we are walking the right way.

Oh Holy Spirit, guide us as we go into the field today to tell someone the words of God, words that they need to hear,
While preparing their hearts to receive God's word, while calming ours and their fears.

Prayer for Forgiveness and Guidance

Prayer for Forgiveness and Guidance

Dear Father,

I'm sorry Father God that I let my emotions get in the way
I let myself become overwhelmed in the problems of the day
Instead of seeking your wisdom and advice
I allowed Satan and circumstances, my feelings to entice

I behaved very badly and became victim to my own deceitful heart
I know when it speaks to me, I must pray to you from the start
I most humbly pray for the future guidance that I need
And ask that you grant me your wisdom and I allow you to lead

I ask that you forgive me for my shortcomings of the week
Your guidance, love, and wisdom are all that I ever need to seek
Please envelop me in your loving arms of comfort and peace
And grant me your strength and mercy that bring such sweet release

Love,
Your  child
