Saved For His Service

Saved For His Service

Great peace fills the heart
When one's sins are forgiven.
Then do we sit down and wait
Until the day we go to Heaven?

Some get gloriously saved,
But then they sit idly by
Watching others serve Jesus,
But they will not even try.

We are truly saved to serve.
We do not have time to wait.
The fields are ripe for harvest.
Someday it will be too late.

Let us do service for our God.
Tell others the old sweet story
That God sent His only Son
Down from His home in Glory.

Jesus came to die for sinners
Just like you and just like me.
If we accept Jesus, the Savior,
From sin, we'll be set free.

Tongues Of Fire

Tongues Of Fire

What sounded like a roaring wind
shook the room they gathered in
imagine shock and great surprise
when tongues of fire was their prize

They now proclaimed His glory loud
which drew a large and boisterous crowd
amazed that they could understand
God praised in language from their land

They wondered what those had consumed
at 9 A.M. throughout that room
so Peter stood to set them straight
a gospel story to relate

About the Man they crucified
who paid for all the day He died
then rose to conquer death and sin
appeared to many and their kin

Those hearts were pierced like right away
three thousand added just that day
and many more would follow soon
thanks to the fire in that room

Now if there is a lesson here
please hear my plead which is sincere
the Spirit moves in power still
when we find worshiping a thrill

Then boys and girls will prophesy
old men dream dreams before they die
the young see visions that are clear
both slave and free will be drawn near

A people renewed by tongues of flame
will shake a church that had it tame
and we'll proclaim Jesus is Lord
when greater works have been restored

Disappointment Doesn't Equal Discouragement

Disappointment Doesn't Equal Discouragement

Everybody lives with disappointments that come their way
But you choose your own reactions each and every day
Discouragement can easily take a hold on you
Or you can rise to the challenge, knowing God will see you through

Faced with the knowledge of a horrible fate for his country
Instead of anger and hurt, Habbakuk held on to His faith in the Almighty
He wrote a hymn of worship and rejoiced in His Lord above
Rejoiced in God's strength and the knowledge of His love

God supports all of us in exactly the same way
He is always with us; And He's exactly the same God today
Don't let burdens and challenges consume your life
Trust in God and continually praise Him in through your struggles and strife

Forgiveness Undeserved

Forgiveness Undeserved

I don't deserve forgiveness and
I don't deserve His love.
I don't deserve His blessings that
He showers from above.

My greatest deeds have missed His mark.
My works were just my will.
My life appears so very dark.
Guilt haunts me even still.

Except for Jesus on the cross,
except for loving grace,
except forgiveness undeserved -
a hope? No, not a trace.

Your Ticket's at Will Call

Your Ticket's at Will Call

If arriving too late at heavens front gate
Could you cover the fee on your own
The sentence of sin isn’t letting you in
No provision for merit alone

God's Lamb is the grace that has taken your place
Your admission was paid at a cost
In the Kingdom to come, despite all you’ve done
You'll be counted no more with the lost

Trusting in Jesus brings mercy that frees us
Eyes blinded now amazingly see
Though no longer dead it was Jesus who said
You come unto the Father through Me

Salvation by works is the lie that still lurks
A deception that’s poison to all
Your way has been made and it’s already paid
It's just waiting for you at Will Call

The Train of Life

The Train of Life

Life moves along
Like a train along its tracks
There is no reverse
There is no going back

Just a narrow thin line
And a line straight ahead
On a path set by God
And a course He has bled

And though we see its horizon
With an anticipatory eye
It's bends and mountains
Are a challenge in which reside

But its tracks splendidly built
For each passenger inside
Not a detail is missing
On this line He's supplied

And so we start the adventure
On His tracks called faith
In the train of His love
And in hope do bathe

But there is an interloper
A jack of all trades
A bandit along side
And the train tries to invade

His words smartly spoken
As his clothes stylishly paid
Not a detail is missing
In the smile on his face laid

And so he takes us to the window
As he causes us to look back
At the past we are leaving
At the stuff down the track

And along its steep bends
He encourages us look down
Through the holes in the track
And the certain death in it found

And then straight ahead
He points out the mountain
That exceeds all our faith
As he chokes hopes fountain

And having set our eyes aside
He slithers down the aisle
Seeking to make his escape
In his stealthy demonic style

But before he can exit
The conductor leans in
Having overheard his misadventure
He throttles him mid-sin

"What is this deadly creature
I've found in the aisle
Who was slinking toward the exit
With a grin and a wry smile"?

But in the Master's strong grip
His facade quickly exposed
As he's tossed from the train
And his carcass disposed

And so we look straight ahead
As we come over that hill
And a rainbow now laid
With our hearts to instill

And so with eyes wide forward
To all that lies ahead
With our sin in the past
And from it deeds now dead

We will rest by His throne
Under the wings of His presence
In the arms of His love
Upon the train of His radiance
Isaiah 6:1-3
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one cried to another and said:

"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!"

For He commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the
waves thereof. They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths:
their soul is melted because of trouble. They reel to and fro, and stagger
like a drunken man, and are at their wit’s end. Then they cry unto the Lord
in their trouble, and He bringeth them out of their distresses.
He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
Psalm 107:25-29

What Awaits The Saints In Glory

What Awaits The Saints In Glory

His mystery, His majesty
His might upon the throne
the thunderstorm of praises born
engulfed in Him alone
thick rolling clouds His glory shrouds
approach we on our knees
then bursting light around Him bright
across deep crystal seas

How can it be that we don't see
how awesome is that place
explosions of emotions
in the center of His grace
by faith we'll know it tells us go
approach with godly fear
to lay it down and throw our crown
such is the atmosphere

And gathered by the brilliant sky
vast army's of the Lord
with elders near who lead a cheer
The Savior be adored
gold trumpets blown the seeds are sown
fall all before our King
He's placed inside where once was pride
new songs for us to sing

We will be dressed in garments blessed
by blood shed once for us
time standing still in His great will
no need to make a fuss
and I will wait for Him to state
that righteousness prevailed
then raise a shout with those about
PRAISE GOD! HIS GLORY HAILED!
