A New Heaven and Earth

A New Heaven and Earth

When I think about,
when the earth will be no more
into the Word of God I go
digging deeper as I explore.

I find throughout the pages,
the warnings God has given us
to seek His face while it can be found
and in Him, to learn to trust.

I see for generations,
man’s rebellion against God’s ways
and for the lack of faith
how we like sheep are led astray.

I come upon the verses,
when God knew what He had to do
and so He sent His begotten Son
to bring salvation to me and you.

When I think about,
when the heaven will be no more
I think about the new one . . .
and all for us it has in store!
Matthew 24:35

" Heaven and earth shall pass away,
but my words shall not pass away."

Sail On, O Christian Comrade

Sail On, O Christian Comrade

Sail on, O Christian comrade true.
Sail on until your journey's through.
Sail on; the lighthouse is in sight.
Sail on; sail toward that beacon light.

When fog tries to swallow the light,
Have faith and sail on through the night.
Fog can't swallow that light so great.
Sail on; that golden shore doth wait.

The Captain said, "We've reached the shore.
Your sailing is over forever more.
No more winds and storms will blow.
No more dangers will you ever know."

"You have reached that happy strand.
You are finally over in Gloryland.
See all that Heaven has in store
As you live with Jesus forever more."

A Far Better Place

A Far Better Place

We're on our way to a far better place
Where we'll see Jesus Christ face to Face,
Bridegroom and bride, united at last
Will walk hand in hand on streets clear as glass.

Surrounded by walls of transparent gold
We'll behold wonders as yet untold
While thousands 'pon thousands of angels will sing
Praises of joy to the queen and the King.

Heavenward, homeward bound are we
To a place where we will be free
From suffering, toil, heartache and sin;
Meeting again our old friends and kin.

Love and peace and joy will flow,
Over all this God's glory will glow;
Sweet communion between bride and Groom -
Oh, dear Jesus, may that Day come soon!

Heaven Is On My Mind

Heaven Is On My Mind

Someday I'll shed this mortal flesh
And fly away to my Heavenly home,
Leaving behind this old world,
And in sin no more will I roam.

The closer I get to that goal,
I think of Heaven more and more.
How will it be when I arrive
Upon that celestial, golden shore?

Yes, the gates are made of pearl,
And the streets are made of gold,
But also God's Word tells us
That the half has never been told.

Will my loved ones meet me there
When I arrive on that glad day,
Or will my Savior greet me first
When I arrive at my home to stay?

Will I have to wait in line
To see my dear Savior's face,
Or will I see Him just shortly
On my arrival in that place?

Am I too Heavenly minded
To be of any earthly good?
I must be about God's business
And work the way I should.

Still, I am so very anxious
To see my dear Savior's face.
I want to thank Him for His love
And for His matchless grace.

My Call

My Call

I walk a path, from God the call,
To stand up “straight”, to stand up tall.
Unworthy am I to be His man,
To bring His Word to all I can??!

My hands were covered with sins for sure,
What load of weight, what curse to endure!
An infinite God, a finite man,
A stench to Him, how could I stand?

He called my heart then cleansed it so,
The price He paid - for blood must flow!
The Son on high, a King made flesh.
His death for man so He could bless!

A God, a man, one in the same,
Through death was death that He did tame.
What cord of death could hold Him down,
and keep from Him His Godly crown?

The Father, the Son, they knew it all,
the price to pay for our great fall.
The work He did, His blood would flow,
SO pure was He, it made us glow!

So now I stand and heed His call
to be His servant and speak to all,
to tell the truth that washes stain,
His love for us does ever rain!
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20

No Heavenly Tollgates

No Heavenly Tollgates

I'll not enter heaven with money, but I'll go in with people,
Those belonging to a body of One, not a building with a steeple.
If I gain earthly treasures, whenever I die, I'll leave them behind,
Having used it wisely in not letting it make me spiritually blind.

Material wealth gained here won't make a difference for eternity,
Jesus came, not for worldly gain, but to release sin's hold on me.
As I depart this life, my earthly goods will remain where they lie,
They'll never corrupt my heavenly home in that sweet by and by.

Money is not evil, it's the love of it making it a dangerous affair,
When greed and jealousy arise, replacing the love that was there.
Destroying friendships that have been flourishing for many years,
As that need for the power of wealth overshadows a plea of tears.

Material wealth can also cause separation between God and man,
Gaining control, inflicting spiritual blindness as nothing else can.
God provides me money to pay those bills and buy the food I eat,
Jesus provides the forgiveness that I need to walk heaven's street.

The Joy of Heaven

The Joy of Heaven

Let every bell, in heaven toll
when heaven's angels call the roll
let all the host, rejoice and sing
in chorus led, by Christ our King

Where tears and sorrow are no more
all sin washed up on distant shore
robes of white, for garments stained
God makes clear the unexplained

Joy everlasting, eternal days
spent in love and endless praise
the lamp of His glory, to light my way
as I walk in his shadow, each day.
