The Diamonds of His Grace

The Diamonds of His Grace

Are your tears like diamonds,
when you confess to God your sin?
Do they fall like raindrops,
as they drip off your chin?

Is your heart remorseful,
of your every evil deed?
Will you give up your pride,
and let the Holy Spirit lead?

Do your tears well up inside,
and come from deep within?
Do they fall like raindrops,
when you cry out to Him?

Will you come to the Light,
to have your wickedness exposed?
Will you call upon His name,
and let your shame be disclosed?

Have you looked into God's eyes,
and wept from your disgrace?
Do you know your tears to Him . . .
are the diamonds of His grace?

In the Early Morning Hour

In the Early Morning Hour

In the early morning hour
His music begins to play
Distant thunder rumbles in
Brings thoughts of Him my way.

In the early morning hour
Alone with God, I pray
Thanking Him for my life
As I awake for another day.

In the early morning hour
The dark of night shall fade
Rain drops tap upon the roof
Jewels from Heaven, He has made.

In the early morning hour
I proclaimed my need
The request I've asked before
Many years I cried this plead.

In the early morning hour
No answer comes, but still
I absolutely trust in Him
If it would be in His will.

In the early morning hour
Peace fills me once again
His grace is sufficient
I sing praise to Him, Amen!

In the early morning hour
My heart no longer dismayed
His arms comforted me
When for another, I prayed.

In the early morning hour
His fingers stir the air with power
He orchestrates a song of hope
In the early morning hour.

Love was shown

Love was shown

What's love been reduced to huh?
It leaves as fast as it comes.
Where's the pain in it now?
Where is the sacrifice?
To be honest, this isn't love,
Just mere pleasure
Why these people gaining 'joy'
In all these false treasures?

Love isn't this feeling or emotion.
It's a choice to pour your heart out.
All the time and everytime.
Even when it's hurting.
You can keep yourself closed.
You can turn cold.
Lock your heart in a box.
In safety, where it grows old.

But trust me, it's not worth it
Love's something I didn't deserve.
Yet I was given it
That's why I write these words.
Love breeds forgiveness
That too I was shown
Even amidst my imperfection
He made his love known.

Honestly, it's easy to be hard,
But harder to be vulnerable.
Easier to not care
Than show that you do.
The ultimate example of this?
Jesus on the cross.
And whatever I may lose now.
I don't count it as loss.

The Light of Sight

The Light of Sight

He opened my eyes so I could see
The power of his light
For once I saw His light so dim
But now it shines so bright.

Now I see what I was once
For He changed me from within
I tried to fight to live my life
But, I found I still had sin.

It's hard to live a sin-free life
But I know that I should try
To do the things He has planned for me
Before the day I die.

I love my Lord unconditionally
For I know what's wrong or right
He changed me into the man I am
A man that now has sight.

I'm Crossing Over

I'm Crossing Over

I'm crossing over,
nothing is going to stop me
not the storm, not the wind
not the waves on the sea.

I'm crossing over,
I'll not go down with the ship
I'm hanging on to the helm
Jesus will keep me in His grip.

I'm crossing over,
soon I will be on safe ground
I'm not going to panic
Jesus won't let me drown.

I'm crossing over,
there's nothing to get in my way
I'm not losing my direction
Jesus is with me night and day.

I'm crossing over,
I won't be tossed all about
there isn't a storm I can't beat
Jesus cures my every doubt.

I'm crossing over,
nothing is going to stop me now
I'll fight the tempest in front of me
and Jesus is going to show me how!
Matthew 14:24
King James Version

"But the ship was now in the midst of the
sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was
contrary."

Mountain

Mountain

My troubles seem a mountain high
And there’s no way across.
This mountain’s grown to touch the sky;
But soon will know who’s boss.

Oh, mountain standing tall and proud,
It’s time for you to move.
My God and I feel three’s a crowd
And I have faith to prove.

For faith as small as mustard seed
Will cause a mountain - steep,
To bow before its Lord, indeed!
Hear now my need and leap.

“But who are you”, I heard him say,
“To tell me what to do?
You’ll never move my rock and clay,
You surely know it’s true.”

Yet, what are mountains but a mound
Of dirt and rock and sod?
Can you refuse divinely crowned,
Empowered child of God?

My power doesn’t come from me
And neither does my will.
Before my God Almighty flee,
You itty-bitty hill.

Life is a Gift

Life is a Gift

Life is sometimes painful
Yet, life is surely a gift
Even when God allows this
For the evil one to sift.

I am feeling more than sifted
So tired, and just plain through
Thoughts rage through my mind
Wondering what I should do?

A monumental waste of time
To think that I had a plan
Well, plans vanish in the air
I can't, but my God can.

Thinking I had it covered
But there never was a chance
When blindsided recognition came
God engineers every circumstance.

Life is a gift from God
For He sends friends abound
Falling into a fitful sleep, yet
This morning the gift, I found.

They have gathered faithfully
As Christians remain so true
Life though fraught with pain, but
Their prayers flow, replenish, renew.

Thank you Lord for this gift
They came to me this morn
Lifted a spirit feeling low
A heart heavy and forlorn.

Life is a gift from God
Now another day is here
Thank you for these precious ones
That came to bring good cheer.
