A Perfect Masterpiece

A Perfect Masterpiece

Peered I, up to the heavens. So stunned, I stood in awe.
His hand swept over East to West and this is what I saw...
A sight exposing every truth, that made me nearly faint.
A sight, that in a million years, no man could ever paint.
A special, brand new masterpiece that God creates each day.
A special, brand new vision that He gives along my way.

I see a vast creation that is pure outside and in
before His work is tarnished by horrendous, evil sin.
He paints His skies so differently. No two are just the same.
He paints the creatures on the earth - the wild and the tame.
The sunsets over mountain peaks are not identical -
and snowflakes falling from the sky - not precisely equal.

The clouds float freely with the breeze while rolling on thin air.
Though no two skies are just alike, they share the canvas there.
And no two meadows look the same as I walk down His path.
I see no trees identical when grown through nature's wrath.
Not equal are the mountain streams or creatures of the wild.
And so unique the sunsets are - as faces of a child.

So patiently, a flower bud waits ready to unfurl.
A swirl of brilliant petals bloom. I see a little girl.
Her whole life laid in front of her that she became forthwith -
another link within the chain this world had yanked her with.
Priorities had dragged her from her work to shopping mall.
And every day, a masterpiece - yet she had missed them all.

Now richly dressed as all the rest who never seemed to care,
she peered inside a cancer ward and saw young children there.
She saw the face of one small boy with cute and chubby cheeks -
and though the tears had dried away she saw the many streaks.
They washed away the happiness in life so short, but giving -
as sin has made the sky to fall on innocent still living.

God waves His hand across the sky, but have I failed to see -
out way beyond my own routine, beyond my vanity?
God paints a perfect masterpiece on each and every child.
I finally saw His masterpiece when that young child smiled.
Peered I, up to the heavens. Through tears, I prayed in awe.
His hand swept over East to West and that is what I saw...

Ready for Spring

Ready for Spring

Lord, I am ready,
for Springtime to begin
for new growth . . .
to produce from within.

I’m ready for winters,
dead wood to be pruned
I’m ready to be trimmed
so we are more in tuned.

I’m ready for the sun,
to melt the winter snow
I’m ready for Your grace
to multiply and grow.

I’m ready for the warmth,
to penetrate the cold
I’m ready to be for You
someone fresh and bold.

I’m ready for the chance,
to blossom and flourish
I’m ready for Spring . . .
to renew and nourish!

John  15: 2
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away
: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it,
that it may bring forth more fruit.

Heaven Is On My Mind

Heaven Is On My Mind

Someday I'll shed this mortal flesh
And fly away to my Heavenly home,
Leaving behind this old world,
And in sin no more will I roam.

The closer I get to that goal,
I think of Heaven more and more.
How will it be when I arrive
Upon that celestial, golden shore?

Yes, the gates are made of pearl,
And the streets are made of gold,
But also God's Word tells us
That the half has never been told.

Will my loved ones meet me there
When I arrive on that glad day,
Or will my Savior greet me first
When I arrive at my Home to stay?

Will I have to wait in line
To see my dear Savior's face,
Or will I see Him just shortly
On my arrival in that place?

Am I too Heavenly minded
To be of any earthly good?
I must be about God's business
And work the way I should.

Still, I am so very anxious
To see my dear Savior's face.
I want to thank Him for His love
And for His matchless grace.

Tulips & Roses

Tulips & Roses

Right under our noses
are tulips and roses.
There's no place that I'd rather be.
And if you come hither
you'll find they won't wither
for God surely loves you and me.

A rainbow of colors
are splattered on flowers
that all of creation can see.
And when they're a-blooming,
exquisite perfuming
enhances His paintings for me.

The world won't believe Him,
far out on their tree limb.
Opinions are having their say.
They make me so dizzy
because they're so busy
and can't find eternity's way.

I know you would rather
join with me and gather
up armfuls of rainbow's bouquets -
and inside His  painting
enjoy His creating
the rest of eternity's days.

So join me and jump in-
to painting, born again,
where flowering landscapes are true.
Here living with respect
is Heavenly perfect
in vibrant and colorful hue.

Right under our noses
are tulips and roses.
There's no place that I'd rather be.
And if you come hither
you'll find they won't wither
for God really loves you and me,
for God really loves you and me.

A Mother's Prayer

A Mother's Prayer

God, please bless my children
Care for them as they grow
Fill them with your Spirit to
Teach them all you know
Lord, count each hair upon their heads
As they lay down at night
Cover them with loving wing
Until the morning light
Help me be a mother who is
Gentle and is kind
Help me give, help me love
Bring peace into my mind
Thank you for this family
I love them with all my heart
Watch over them when they are with me
Take care when we're apart
Lord don't let them stumble
Catch them if they fall
They are precious to me
They are my one and all

Life's Greatest Moment

Life’s  Greatest  moment

A life's greatest moment happens as Jesus
enters in and becomes it's centerpiece,
For then and only then will the pressures
from a life of sin begin to cease.
Deep down inside there is a sense of
freedom coming with each breath taken,
Because now God's the ruler of this life
and Satan is the one whose forsaken.

There's Light coming from this new life
as The Light of Life dwells within,
Replacing darkness that was there before,
shadowed by the ever presence of sin.
Allowing the outward appearance to bring
forth a love that flows up from the soul,
As this life moves forward in an attempt
to carry out God's plans for it's role.

Now then much wisdom will be needed, for
the truth is seen only by the wise,
Because so many times it's been hidden
behind some very clever disguise.
Then the only place where this wisdom is
found is in God's infallible word,
Here sixty six books have been written by
His writers of things seen and heard.

Indeed, this life's greatest moment came
as Jesus breathed new life in it's soul,
Yet from this point on, it will get even
better as it's entered to heaven's roll.
There to be rewarded with crowns earned
on earth as service to God was rendered,
Now the greatest eternal moment comes as
the gates of heaven are entered.

The Heart of Forgiveness

The Heart of Forgiveness

I question those Christians,
who say they love the Lord
and yet to forgive others
their hearts can't get on board.

They tithe and go to church,
sometimes they read their Bible
but to those who have hurt them
they still hold them accountable.

Forgiveness is an eleven-letter word,
that they know how to spell out
but to understand it's full meaning
they are full of hesitation and doubt.

They have chosen not to forget,
nor give to God their pain
to do so would mean to them
all their suffering would be in vain.

For deep in their souls,
they have become the judge
and to forgive others means
their hearts would have to budge.

And so they cling on to the past,
with hearts as cold as stone
instead of giving over their grief
to the One who judges from the throne.

I wonder if they ever think,
what if Jesus had thought this way?
I wonder what these Christians . . .
would then have to say.

Ephesians 4: 32
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted,
 forgiving one another,

even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
