That Beautiful Land Called Heaven

That Beautiful Land Called Heaven

I read of a land more fair than this ,
It’s free from sin and shame .
It is a land of perfect bliss ,
Where none are sick or lame .
It is a land forever free
From disappointment sad ;
Where all the saints in love agree
In things that make them glad .
It is a land where strife will end ,
Where greed and pride will cease ,
Where all will join in heart and hand
In universal peace .
It is a land of true success ,
Where all are doing well ,
Where all rejoice and praise the Lord ,
Who saved their souls from hell .
It is a land of no regrets
That cast their shadows round ,
It is a bright and happy land ,
In which no clouds are found .
The unkind word will never sting
Within this land above ,
For all will speak like Christ their King ,
The King of peace and love .
Here broken hearts will all be healed ,
And friends will part no more .
Eternal joys are here revealed
On those celestial shores .
Though countless ages onward roll ,
Its pleasures never cease .
Then let the Christ into your soul ,
And share His eternal peace .

You are Beautiful

You Are Beautiful
==================

You are beautiful. . .

It's a phrase that my mother uses a lot.

I used to wonder, "How in the world can Mother call them
beautiful?"

I am a logical, statistical man.
I call things as I see them.
I didn't see beauty.

My mother would tell people this with an enthusiasm they
could feel. She was genuine. She wasn't telling them they
were beautiful to get something from them. Most of the
time, they were trying to get something from her.

I wondered for years what was wrong with Mother's perception and
vision. Couldn't she see that all of the people she called
beautiful, weren't beautiful?

You were beautiful only if you had a certain figure and face
that was classed as beautiful by the laws of the world and
glamour. Yet when my mother spoke, people smiled as though
Glamour magazine had listed them as one of the beautiful people
of the year.

It took me years to finally understand my mother's vision
and the phrase, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

My mother had a spirit that could see the beauty in a person.

Most only look on the outside and then compare what they
see with the standards the world has given them.

That was what I was doing.

Today when you leave your house, carefully look at the first
person whom you see and notice how beautiful they are.

They may be balding, fat, wrinkled, pimply, or any of the
other things the world frowns upon as beauty.

Look at them closely and look for the beauty.

If you really look, you'll see it.

I didn't believe that at first until I tried it.
Sure enough, as I stared and opened another set of eyes,
I was able to see the beauty in every person.
No matter how rough or worn a person looked,
each pain etched line held a glimpse of beauty.

You just have to look for the beauty. It's there.

When you leave your home this morning, look hard at each
person. You will start to see the beauty of every human whom
you didn't know existed. Trust me and try this.
If you sincerely look, you will see it.

When you get home after seeing the beauty in faces you see,
look in the mirror.

You are beautiful.

Thank you Mama for all of the beauty that you have not only
seen, but added.

When Mother Prayed

When Mother Prayed
I think that I shall never see ,
This side of God’s eternity ,
A scene as lovely as the one
Which met my gaze when day was done .
In childhood years of long ago :
My mother sings , tis sweet and low.
Her face with love is all aglow ,
She turns the pages of God’s Word ,
Her tender heart is deeply stirred .
She kneels , she prays ,Oh ,what a prayer!
I listen , lingering on the stair –
“God bless my boy “-I hear my name ,
And there , with in my heart , a flame
Begins to burn – ‘tis burning yet .
That hour I never shall forget !
My mother dear , at even kneels ,
And prays for me . This morn there steals
A ray of warmth into my heart ,
And now , like her , from cares apart ,
I pray . Her prayers still follow me –
A torch , and by its gleam I see
My home across the crystal sea

My Mother's Prayer

My Mother’s Prayers
“ Among the treasured pictures
that I’ll hung on memory’s wall ,
There’s one that’s clearer than the rest
And sweeter far than all :
“Tis a picture of my mother
When I was a little chap ,
Folded in her loving arms ,
To slumber on her lap ;

I felt her hands caress my head ,
I heard her solfly say
“Dear Jesus ,take this little life
And use it every day .”
There must have been a mighty weight
Behind that simple prayer ,
For through the seasons , year on year ,
The picture lingers there ,

And whether I’m on hill or plain
On the deep blue sea ,
The memory of that sacred scene
Forever comforts me ;
Among the treasured pictures
That I’ve hung on memory’s wall .
My mother’s supplication
Is the sweetest one of all .”

Before it is too late

Before It Is Too Late
If you have a gray-haired mother
In the old home far away ,
Sit you down and write the letter
You put off from day to day .

Don’t wait until her weary steps
Reach Heaven’s pearly gate
But show her that you think of her ,
Before it is too late .

If you have a tender message
Or a loving word to say
Don’t wait till you forget it
But whisper it today .

We know what bitter memories
May haunt you if you wait ,
So make your loved one happy
Before it is too late .

The tender word unspoken
The letters never sent ,
The long forgotten messages
The wealth of love unspent .

For these some hearts are breaking
For these some loved ones wait ,
Show them that you care for them
Before it too late .

Dishes

Dishes
They had a set of dishes
Given them when they wed ,
With luck and happiness and wishes
By loved ones ,who to them said
They wished they’d always be happy
As the moment when,”I will,”
Was said with so much rapture
That their hearts were standing still.

The dishes tell a lovely story
Of the lives they were to live _
How they shone in all their glory
When the very first forgive
Was whispered, and I love you truly ,
Which made things right again ,
For it was just as surely said ,
As sun comes after rain

Time as long since passed ,
Since they were first together ,
When he’d sit and ask her
If she loved him as no other –
And she was just content
With the answer in her heart ,
For she knew that it was meant
That they should never part ..

Although their lives had many scars
Like cracks upon the china ,
Their love outshone the mars ,
For it was only minor ,
If the one who’d done the wrong
Down in his heart had sorrow ,
For they never let the sun go down
Without a ,” Bright Tomorrow ,”

She’s an old lady now ,
And he is seventy-two ,
The cups and saucers wonder
What the other one will do ,
Until they both are able ,
To sit at God’s own perfect table ,
Be fed by His own hand

I wrote this poem about twenty years ago , I had just lost my dad . My mother was morning herself to dealt . My family was at it lowest . I sat at my computer ,an begin praying for answers . This poem was the answer that was given to me . This help my mother get through it . My mother health is failing now , she is 93 years old . A few years ago my brother died ,and again I cry out to My Lord . That when I start writing this blog . This has been God answer to me . It has been a blessing to me . So many times people email me or met me in person and has told me , that they were about to take their own life .And something I wrote change their minds . I guess what I trying to say is . That I pray before I write these poems ,or short stories not on my own but I believe God is giving them to me . He is saying to each and everyone of us ,I LOVE YOU and I know what you are going through .I am not a smart man or a great writer. I just love God with all my heart . If anyone need me just feel free to call on me . Liza Henson , my daughterinlaw mother ,is on death watch , she not expected to make it past this week .

Runner's Water

Runner's Water

Drink Plenty of Water

I've heard it. I've read it. As long as I have been running,
it's always been the same message: "drink plenty of water."

All along most racecourses are water stations, and most runners
slow down to drink a cup of cool water. Keeping your water
level up is critical when you run.

If you get slightly dehydrated, you will not run well.
If you get moderately dehydrated, you will become disoriented.
If you get seriously dehydrated, you can die.
It's serious business.

The first year I ran I was inexperienced (also younger, slimmer,
stupider, etc.) I passed water stop after water stop,
occasionally drinking a swallow or two. I felt good, and I
wasn't going to waste precious seconds drinking water, even
though it was a hot, humid day.

Big mistake.

As I neared the final mile, I "hit the wall." My energy level
dropped to zero, I began having to walk some, and I realized I
would have to work hard just to finish. I did make it across
the line, but only with a tremendous headache and hardly enough
energy to walk. It was not much fun.

I learned an important lesson that year. Stopping for water
doesn't actually slow you down. In fact, you will run a better
race if you do drink water. The bottom line is that your body is
simply not designed to function without water.

In the same way, your spiritual stamina depends on stopping for
regular drinks of "spiritual water." The dilemma for busy
people is finding time to invest in reading the Word and
spending time in prayer. Like the runner intent on reaching the
finish line, we tend to put off those regular drinks of water
until we are totally parched.

But in the long run, you will run a better race if you will stop
for spiritual water. In fact, finishing the spiritual race at
all may depend on it. Runners who don't ever slow down to take
a drink often stumble off the course far short of the finish
line.

In this year's race, I saw a man become dehydrated just a mile
from the finish. Strangely, he didn't seem to recognize that
anything was wrong. He was swaying from side to side as he
walked, mumbling over and over, "I'm fine. I'm fine." He was so
disoriented that he didn't even recognize his own sick
condition.

If you let yourself become spiritually dehydrated, you may not
even be able to recognize it. Stop today to drink some cool
"Living Water." For serious runners, it's a must.
